The F²Games physics sandbox: what it is, where to download GoreBox for Android and PC, and how to fix it when it breaks.
What GoreBox is
GoreBox is a first-person physics sandbox game for Android and PC. You load a map, open the spawn menu, and drop in props, vehicles, weapons and ragdoll characters called GoreDolls. Then you do whatever you want with them. There is no story to finish and no score to chase. The whole game is the physics engine and the tools it hands you.
The main tool is the Reality Crusher, a gravity gun that grabs, throws, freezes and deletes anything you spawn. Most of the fun comes from combining it with the ragdoll system, which tracks bones, bleeding and limb damage on every character. Hit a GoreDoll with a car and it reacts the way you'd expect a body to react, and it stays broken afterwards.
People compare it to Garry's Mod and People Playground, and that comparison is fair. It sits between the two: more 3D and first-person than People Playground, far lighter than Garry's Mod, and built to run on a phone.
Where to download GoreBox
There are two official versions and they are not the same product.
Play and Steam are the official stores. Uptodown and Aptoide host the unmodified F²Games app and keep an archive of older builds. SandboxAPK does not store game files.
- Android (free). The GoreBox app on Google Play, published by F²Games. It is ad-supported with in-app purchases. Current build is 16.3.56, around 120 MB, and it needs Android 7.1 or newer. This is the version most people mean when they search for the GoreBox APK.
- PC (paid). GoreBox on Steam, released 21 July 2023 for Windows and Linux at $8.99. See the GoreBox PC guide for specs, the emulator route and the free route that is legal.
About APK sites. Google Play already gives you GoreBox for free, so there is nothing to gain from a third-party APK except risk. Mod APKs and "no ads" builds are repackaged by strangers, often carry adware, and they can't update. If you want an older build for a specific reason, Uptodown and Aptoide keep a version archive of the real app, which is a safer option than random download blogs.
GoreBox on iOS, consoles and browser
None of the three. GoreBox is not on the App Store, and F²Games has said the developer fee is the reason. There is no PS5, PS4 or Xbox version, and no VR build. Any "GoreBox IPA" or "play GoreBox online no download" page is either a clone or a scam. We cover the details and the few real workarounds on the iOS page and the console page.
Current version and updates
GoreBox jumped to v16 in 2025 and has been patched through 16.3.x since. The big additions were the Canvas map, gesture commands for GoreDolls, radial menus for guns, missions with checkpoint warps, Divine mode, dropkicking, and the return of modding. Full breakdown on the v16 page.
The one thing that changed in the other direction: in March 2026 F²Games removed official multiplayer after months of exploiters and bot raids. You can still play with friends through your own Photon keys, and we walk through that on the multiplayer setup page.

Is GoreBox for you?
If you like Melon Playground or People Playground but want it in 3D with vehicles and proper guns, yes. If you want a game with goals, probably not. It's also extremely violent. The store listing is 17+, the dismemberment is not hidden, and while there is a reduced-gore setting, the game is still called GoreBox for a reason. Parents asking whether it's fine for a 10-year-old: it's not designed for that.
Quick answers
Is GoreBox free?
On Android, yes. It shows ads and sells cosmetics and a no-ads pass. On Steam it costs $8.99.
What Android version do I need?
Android 7.1 at minimum. The community wiki lists 6 GB of RAM as the comfortable amount; it runs on less if you keep the ragdoll count down.
What is GoreBox 27?
A separate, newer F²Games app on Google Play. It is not an update to the main GoreBox and has its own listing. Don't install it expecting your v16 progress to carry over.
Is GoreBox Animosity the same game?
Yes. Animosity and Definitive Edition are old subtitles for the same app. The package name on Google Play is still com.F2Games.GBDE.
Can I play GoreBox unblocked in a browser?
No. There is no web build. Sites offering it are running something else or an emulator stream that will disconnect after a few minutes.
