GoreBox mods
Where GoreBox mods come from, how to install them on Android and PC, and what a mod menu APK really gives you.
Modding went away for a while and came back with v16. Today there are three layers to it: maps and content through the in-game Workshop, scripted mods through the modding API and console, and the grey-market stuff, which is mod APKs and mod menus. The first two are supported. The third is where most of the trouble comes from.
The Workshop (Android and PC)
The Workshop is built into the game and is the same on both platforms. It's where custom maps, skins, and content packs get shared. Open it from the main menu, browse or search, and tap install. Installed items show up in the map list or the spawn menu depending on what they are.
On Steam there's also the Steam Workshop, which mirrors much of the same content and handles updates automatically when you subscribe.
Most of what you'll find:
- Maps: cities, arenas, recreations of places from other games, obstacle courses. The Canvas map added in v16 exists specifically so people have a blank space to build on.
- Skins for GoreDolls and guns. Gun skins are the most-searched category, and there's a large free selection alongside the paid ones in the shop.
- Prop and vehicle packs.
The map editor
You don't need to download anything to make maps. The editor is in the game: pick a base, place statics and props, set spawn points, save. Maps can stay private or be uploaded to the Workshop. It's clunky on a phone screen and much nicer with a mouse, which is one of the better reasons to own the Steam version.
The modding API and command console
Scripted mods use a command console that can spawn objects, add or remove physics, parent objects to each other, move things, attach scripts and listen for game events like a player dying or a weapon firing. The documentation for it circulates as a PDF titled "ModdingDocumentation" and is linked from the F²Games Discord.
Community mods built this way include admin command packs and the "70+ modded commands" collections you'll see on YouTube. They're text files or scripts you load through the console, not APKs. The commands page covers the built-in ones.
Mod APKs and mod menus
"GoreBox mod menu" and "GoreBox mod APK" mostly mean one of three things:
- A repackaged APK with ads stripped out and paid cosmetics unlocked.
- An APK with an overlay menu offering god mode, infinite ammo and speed.
- A repackaged APK with malware in it, dressed up as either of the above.
The first two are already in the game for free: there's a Divine mode toggle, sandbox settings for health and ammo, and the ad-free pass is a one-time purchase that supports the developer. The third is far more common than people expect, because APK download blogs make money on installs and nobody is checking what's in the file.
Since March 2026 there's one more thing: multiplayer through the Photon workaround is between friends only, so there's nothing to "win" with a mod menu. You'd just be installing an unknown binary for features you already have.
Get the game first
Play and Steam are the official stores. Uptodown and Aptoide host the unmodified F²Games app and keep an archive of older builds. SandboxAPK does not store game files.
Installing mods on Android
- Update to the latest version from Google Play. Workshop content is built for current builds.
- Main menu → Workshop → find the item → Install.
- For scripted mods: Settings → Modding → enable the console, then load the script from your device storage. The path the game reads from is shown in that menu.
Installing mods on Steam
- Subscribe on the Steam Workshop page, or use the in-game Workshop.
- Restart the game once. Subscribed maps appear in the map list.
- Scripts go in the game's mod folder under the Steam library path; the modding docs give the exact directory.
Common questions
Are there GoreBox mods on Nexus Mods?
Not really. The community lives on the in-game Workshop, Steam Workshop and Discord. A few Nexus listings exist but they're sparse and often outdated.
Can I get gun mods on Android?
Yes, through the Workshop. Custom weapon models and skins are among the most downloaded items.
Is there a GoreBox mod for the old Bloodbath or Classic versions?
Those are separate, older F²Games games. Their mod scenes are tiny and unsupported now.
