The rebuilt GoreBox, in early access. It is where multiplayer lives now, and it is not an update to the game you already have.
What GoreBox 27 is
GoreBox 27 is the rebuild F²Games started after pulling official multiplayer from the main game in March 2026. Through the spring it was referred to as GB26; it shipped on Google Play as GoreBox 27, first as a pre-registration and then as an early access release in September. It is a new engine and a new app, not a patch: the main GoreBox (the one on version 16.5.3, still listed as GoreBox and sometimes called Animosity) keeps going alongside it.
The listing was last updated on 30 September 2026 (source: Google Play), and Google Play's Play Fest promotion on 13 October lists it, so expect another build around then. The store listing is blunt about the state of it: only a few months old, bugs expected, far less content than the main game for now. That's accurate. What it has instead is the systems the old engine couldn't do.

Multiplayer in GoreBox 27
This is the reason most people install it. You can host a game for friends, join by invite, or browse public sessions, and it works across every platform the game is on. Small lobbies can be filled with bots. Hosts get kick, vote-kick and in-game chat. LAN play is there for people on the same network.
There's no Photon setup. Accounts and sessions are handled by the game. Whether the exploiter problem that killed the old servers returns is the open question, and F²Games' answer is that this engine was built with that in mind; time will tell.
Download GoreBox 27
Both apps are published by F²Games. GoreBox 27 is a separate install with its own listing and package name (com.F2Games.GB27). SandboxAPK does not store game files.
GoreBox 27 is a different app from GoreBox 16.5.3, with its own package name (com.F2Games.GB27 against com.F2Games.GBDE) and its own Play listing. Installing it doesn't touch the main game, and nothing carries over between them. The main game's file and version history are on the GoreBox APK page.

Early access: what it means for the download
- Versions change often. A build number you see in a video may already be old; Play shows the current one.
- Bugs are expected; the store listing says so. Crashes on launch usually mean a partial update. Reinstall from Play before anything else.
- Mirrors lag Play by days. For an early access game that's a bigger gap than usual; install from Play if you can.
Mod APKs and GoreBox 27
Modified builds appeared within days of release. GoreBox 27 is an online game with accounts and matchmaking; a modified client is the fastest way to be banned from it, and F²Games built this engine after the old one was overrun by exploiters. There's no offline-only reason to sideload a mod either, since sandbox mode already unlocks everything.
Should you switch?
- Want to play with friends: yes, GoreBox 27. It's the only GoreBox with working matchmaking.
- Want the sandbox with all the toys: stay on the main game. Workshop maps, the full arsenal, syringes, missions, nextbots and bosses are all there and not in 27 yet.
- Want to build maps: both have editors. The main game's has years of Workshop content around it; 27's is newer and built for the new engine.
- Low-end phone: the main game. 27 is heavier, and the crash fixes written for the main game mostly apply to it too.
Most people end up with both installed.
Common questions
Is GoreBox 27 replacing GoreBox?
Not yet. F²Games is developing both. The main game got 16.4 and 16.5.3 this year while 27 was being built.
Does my GoreBox progress transfer to 27?
No. Separate app, separate saves and purchases.
Is GoreBox 27 on PC or Steam?
F²Games has announced PC alongside Android and the game supports crossplay, but check their Discord for the current PC status; it changes month to month in early access.
Is GoreBox 27 on iOS?
No, and there's been no announcement. Same situation as the main game.
Can I have GoreBox and GoreBox 27 installed together?
Yes. Different package names, no conflict. Most players keep both.
What does the "27" mean?
It's the internal generation number. The rebuild was called GB26 during development and shipped as 27.
