GoreBox on PC

Two ways to play GoreBox on a computer, what each one costs, and the specs you need.

Updated 2026-09-07

GoreBox exists on PC as a real, paid Steam release. It also exists as a free Android app you can run inside an emulator. Which one you should use depends on if you want to spend $8.99 and if your PC can handle an emulator on top of the game. Both routes are below, with the trade-offs.

Option 1: GoreBox on Steam

F²Games released GoreBox on Steam on 21 July 2023. It runs on Windows and Linux, costs $8.99, and sits at "Very Positive" with more than 8,000 reviews. This is the version with proper keyboard and mouse controls, higher ragdoll limits, Steam Workshop for maps and mods, and cloud saves.

It is not verified for Steam Deck. It runs, but expect to adjust controls yourself.

Play and Steam are the official stores. Uptodown and Aptoide host the unmodified F²Games app and keep an archive of older builds. SandboxAPK does not store game files.

If you already play on your phone: progress does not transfer. The Steam build and the Android build are separate installs with separate saves.

System requirements

Listed minimum
OSWindows 10, 64-bit
CPUIntel Core i5-10400F or similar
GPUGeForce GT 1030 or similar
RAM4 GB
StorageAbout 1 GB

Those numbers come from the community wiki and the Steam page, and they are generous. GoreBox is a mobile-first engine. A laptop with integrated graphics from the last five years will run it at medium settings. What eats performance is ragdoll count and explosions, not resolution, so if it stutters, spawn fewer GoreDolls before touching the graphics menu.

Is GoreBox free on PC?

Not on Steam. Searches for "GoreBox free download PC" mostly lead to cracked or repacked builds from sites like SteamUnlocked and SteamRIP. Beyond the obvious problem that it's piracy, those builds are old, can't update, and the multiplayer features they advertise no longer work. If you want to play free on PC, use option 2.

Option 2: The Android app in an emulator

The Google Play version of GoreBox is free, and it runs fine in BlueStacks, LDPlayer, MuMu or Google Play Games for PC. This is what most "GoreBox download on PC free" guides are really describing.

  1. Install an Android emulator. BlueStacks 5 is the common pick; Google Play Games beta is lighter if GoreBox is in its catalogue for your region.
  2. Sign in with a Google account and open the Play Store inside the emulator.
  3. Search for GoreBox by F²Games and install it. You want the listing with the package name com.F2Games.GBDE.
  4. In the emulator settings, give it at least 4 GB of RAM and enable hardware acceleration if your CPU supports it.
  5. Launch the game. Set the control scheme in the emulator's keymapping tool: WASD to the move joystick, mouse to look, left click to fire, right click for the Reality Crusher.

You'll still see ads, because it's the same app. Performance is worse than native Steam, but it's free and it is the real game rather than a pirated copy.

Don't sideload an APK into the emulator when the Play Store is right there. It gains you nothing.

PC controls

Default keyboard layout on the Steam version:

ActionKey
MoveW A S D
Jump / crouchSpace / Ctrl
SprintShift
Spawn menuQ or Tab
Reality Crusher grab / throwRight mouse / left mouse while holding
Freeze held objectF
Chat and commandsEnter or T

Everything can be rebound in Settings. Steam Input handles controllers, and the game lists controller support on its store page, though menus are easier with a mouse.

Which one should you pick?

Buy it on Steam if you plan to play a lot, want Workshop maps and mods, or want proper multiplayer with friends through the Photon workaround (that's far easier to set up on PC). Use the emulator if you just want to mess around for an evening or you're not sure the game is for you. You can always buy later.

Common questions

Does GoreBox work on Windows 11?

Yes. The Windows 10 requirement is a minimum, not a ceiling.

Can I get a GoreBox Steam key for free?

Only through giveaways F²Games runs on their Discord. Key generator sites are scams.

Is there a GoreBox .exe I can download without Steam?

No official one. The game is only distributed through Steam on PC.

Does the Steam version have mods?

Yes, via Steam Workshop and the in-game Workshop. See the mods page.

Chromebook?

If your Chromebook supports Android apps, install it from Google Play directly. No emulator needed.
