GoreBox on iOS, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch

There is no iPhone or console version. This page covers why, what the fake ones are, and the ways around it that work.

If you've searched for GoreBox on the App Store, the PlayStation Store or the Xbox store and found nothing, you didn't miss it. GoreBox has never been released for iOS or for any console. It is on Android and Steam only, and F²Games has been fairly blunt about the reason. The iPhone question takes up most of this page; the console and VR status is in the second half.

What the developer has said

Back in 2021, F²Games posted that GoreBox probably wouldn't come to iOS because of the cost of publishing on the App Store. That's the $99-a-year Apple Developer fee plus Apple's 30% cut, and for a small studio giving the game away free with ads, the maths didn't work. Nothing since then has changed that position. There is no announced release date, no beta, and no TestFlight programme. The GoreBox 27 rebuild hasn't changed that either; it's Android and PC.

To state it plainly: there is no official iOS release, no TestFlight listing is linked from the developer's channels, and no release date has been announced (source: the F²Games website and Discord, checked 24 September 2026).

The "GoreBox IPA" downloads are not real

Searches for GoreBox IPA, GoreBox iOS APK, or GoreBox TestFlight turn up plenty of download pages. None of them are the game.

• An APK is an Android package (the latest GoreBox APK guide covers the real one). It cannot be installed on an iPhone under any circumstances, so "GoreBox APK for iOS" is a contradiction.
• An IPA file can only exist if someone compiled the game for iOS. F²Games hasn't, and the source code isn't public, so no one else could have either.
• Sites that ask you to "verify" by installing other apps or completing surveys are running an affiliate scam. The download never appears.
• Config profiles or "enterprise certificates" offered alongside these files give a third party control over your device. Don't install them.

Ways to play GoreBox on an iPhone that work

None of these are native, but they work.

Cloud Android (now.gg and similar)

now.gg runs Android apps in a browser and streams them to your phone. GoreBox has been in their catalogue. It's laggy on mobile data, sessions are time-limited, and the controls are a touchscreen overlay of a touchscreen game, but it is the real app. Search "GoreBox now.gg" and make sure you're on now.gg itself, not a lookalike.

Steam Link or Moonlight from a PC

If you own the Steam version, the Steam Link app on iOS streams it from your computer to your phone over Wi-Fi. This is the best-looking option by a wide margin, and controllers work.

A cheap Android device

A used Android phone or a budget tablet that meets the Android 7.1 minimum will run GoreBox natively for less than the price of most iOS games.

Games like GoreBox that are on iOS

GoreBox on PS5, PS4, Xbox, Switch and VR

Same answer as iOS, for every one of them. There is no PlayStation, Xbox, Switch or VR version, and F²Games has not announced one (source: the developer's website, Steam page and Discord announcements, checked 24 September 2026).

Searches for "GoreBox PS5" turn up YouTube thumbnails and a few listings on unrelated console stores. The videos are the PC game with a controller. The store listings are clone games using the name, typically with two-star reviews. Anything claiming to be an official console port without a link from F²Games' Discord or X account is not the game.

How to play GoreBox on a TV or with a controller

• Steam version + any controller. Steam Input handles Xbox, DualSense and Switch Pro pads. Plug in and play on a TV through your PC or a Steam Link device.
• Android version + Bluetooth controller. The mobile build has partial controller support. Movement and firing work; some menus need a tap. Android TV boxes can install it from Google Play if they meet the RAM requirement, though most don't.
• Steam Deck. Install normally from Steam, pick the "Keyboard (WASD) and Mouse" community layout, and it's playable.

Will GoreBox ever come to iOS or consoles?

Never say never, but there's no signal that it's coming. F²Games' focus in 2026 has been GoreBox 27, the rebuilt version now in early access on Android with PC announced. If an iOS version is ever announced, it will show up on the developer's Discord and X account first. If you see it anywhere else first, it's fake.

Common questions
