Melon Playground on iOS

One of the few ragdoll sandboxes with a real iPhone version, and the one that gets updates first.

Melon Playground on iOS is simple, which is rare in this genre. It is on the App Store under the name Melon: Sandbox, published by PlayDucky, free, and it has been there since 2022. If you play GoreBox or People Playground and wish they were on iPhone, this is the game that is.

The App Store and Google Play listings are the official ones from PlayDucky and Studio 27. The browser version is the same game running in a web page. SandboxAPK does not store game files.

Check that the listing says Melon: Sandbox and the developer is PlayDucky or Studio 27. There are a handful of copycats on the App Store with melon icons and similar names; they have far fewer reviews and no Workshop.

iOS gets updates first

Recent versions have gone live on iOS two to four days before Android. Version 33.5 reached iOS on 28 November 2025 and Android on 1 December; 32.5 was 24 October on iOS and 28 October on Android. If you follow the game's Discord for update news, the iOS date is the one they announce.

Installing mods on iOS

Everything goes through the in-game Workshop, and it works the same on iPhone as anywhere else.

1. Tap Workshop on the main menu.
2. Search or browse. Filters cover skins, weapons, maps and full packs.
3. Tap Get. Free items install immediately; marketplace items cost melon coins.
4. Installed mods appear in the spawn menu under a Workshop tab.

You cannot sideload mod files on iOS the way Android players sometimes do, and you don't need to. Everything in the Android sideload scene is also on the Workshop.

Making your own: the mod maker is in the game, and character templates can be drawn in any image app on the phone and imported through Files.

No ads on iOS

The ad frequency is the main complaint in App Store reviews. The no-ads pass is a one-time in-app purchase, it syncs across devices on the same Apple ID, and it can be restored from Settings → Restore purchases if you reinstall. There is no legitimate free way to remove ads on iOS; the "no ads IPA" files floating around are modified builds that cannot be installed without a jailbreak or a revoked enterprise certificate.

Melon Playground on iPad and Mac

• iPad runs the same app with a larger canvas, which makes building far easier.
• Apple Silicon Macs can install the iOS app from the Mac App Store. It runs natively with mouse and trackpad. This is the closest thing to a real desktop version.
