SandboxAPKGarry's Mod on Android
There is no GMod APK. This is what the mobile clones are, which ones are decent, and how to stream the real thing.
Garry's Mod mobile, GMod APK, Garry's Mod for Android, GMod iOS: Facepunch has never made any of these. The game is built on the Source engine and depends on other Valve games being installed alongside it, which is not a thing that can happen on a phone. There is no port planned, and s&box, the 2026 successor, is also PC-only.
What the "Garry's Mod APK" apps are
Search Google Play for Garry's Mod and you'll get a page of results. Every one is a clone: a Unity game with a physics gun, a spawn menu and a map, dressed in GMod's screenshots. Some are honest about it and some use the name outright until Facepunch has them removed. They fall into a few tiers.

APK download blogs promising "Garry's Mod mobile APK" or "GMod mobile apk" are handing out one of the three, occasionally with extra adware bundled in. There's no reason to sideload any of them; the decent ones are on Google Play.
The mobile games that come closest
- GoreBox (Android, free). First-person, Reality Crusher instead of physics gun, spawn menu with props, vehicles, NPCs and weapons, Workshop maps. This is the nearest thing to GMod on a phone, with the caveat that it is extremely violent.
- Melon Sandbox (Android, iOS, free). 2D rather than 3D, but the biggest mod library of any mobile sandbox and the best-supported app in the genre.
- Sandbox 3D / Ragdoll Playground style apps. Simpler 3D sandboxes. Read recent reviews before installing; these change hands and get flooded with ads.
Playing the real Garry's Mod on a phone
If you own it on Steam, Steam Link streams it to Android or iOS. A Bluetooth controller or a phone with a keyboard case makes it usable; the touch overlay doesn't. This is how the "GMod on mobile" YouTube videos are made. For anything with a lot of text, like DarkRP, a tablet is the minimum sensible screen size.
Common questions
Is Garry's Mod on iOS at all?
No. The App Store has clones with similar names and nothing from Facepunch.
Will s&box come to mobile?
No plans. Facepunch has talked about consoles for s&box, not phones.
Can Winlator run GMod on Android?
People have got the menu to load. Playing it is another matter; Source needs mounted games and the performance is poor.
